Why the transition hose behind your dryer fails

The hose dies from geometry, not age. Petaluma laundry closets are narrow. The dryer gets shoved back to close the bifold door. That crushes the flex duct against the wall elbow. Check it yourself: pull the dryer out. Look for gray felt inside the hose. Look for crushed spots or a hose longer than the gap. If you find either, replace it.
