Pre-1940 homes retrofitted through basements or converted pantries often have improvised runs, sometimes terminating in a crawlspace, and that is a rerouting conversation. Two-story homes built in the 1980s onward have long attic or roof runs with several elbows, so we look at elbow count and termination hood first. We say no when replacement is the honest answer and cleaning would only buy a few months.
